In this episode of “Sex, Love, and Addiction,” Dr. Rob Weiss discusses with Dr. James Wadley how addicted minorities (of all types) often shy away from reaching out for much-needed help for themselves or their families. Dr. Wadley is passionate, in particular, about working with African Americans. To this end, he is the founding editor of the Journal of Black Sexuality and Relationships. In this podcast, he and Rob discuss the fact that African Americans are typically underserved when it comes to mental health and addiction programs, especially sexual addiction, and ways to make treatment and recovery feel more welcoming to these individuals (and other minorities).
