Movement is the song of the body.

Exercise nurtures not just the body but the brain and soul. And that really shouldn’t surprise us. Just watch a group of kids and you’ll see how important it is for them to get up and move – playing, competing, and just plain challenging themselves to see what their bodies (and therefore their minds and spirits) can accomplish. With children, physical fitness is visibly connected to mental fitness and spiritual wellbeing. If you take away physical activity, a child suffers on every level. Well, the same is true with adults. Research shows that for adults, regular exercise not only improves our physical health, it reduces our susceptibility to stress, anxiety, and depression – which happen to be three of the biggest triggers for addiction relapse. So, exercise helps us stay sober.

Task for Today
Engage in at least 30 minutes of exercise, even if it’s just going for a walk.
