This entry was posted in Podcasts and tagged , , on

In this episode of “Sex, Love, and Addiction 101,” Rob Weiss welcomes Asian-American therapist Sam Louie. Sam’s mission is to help Asian-Americans deal with the shame and cultural stigmas surrounding addiction, especially sexual addiction. Sam reflects on his own experience of addiction and then getting help, gives more information on Japanese culture as it relates to addiction and shame, and talks about how he went from feeling defective to comfortable in his own skin and serving as a role model for others. Rob and Sam also discuss ways we can reach out to communities that may be different than our own to provide empathetic help.
