Closing your eyes and plugging your ears won’t fix anything.

Sex addicts use sexual fantasy and behavior to numb out and not feel emotional discomfort. They do this regardless of potential or actual consequences. Usually, they lack empathy for those who are negatively affected by their addiction, including spouses and partners, kids, friends, neighbors, and employers. Sometimes they blame their “need to escape” on the attitudes and actions of these other people. They also find themselves living a double life, separating their sexual activity from their work and home life—keeping secrets, telling lies, manipulating, juggling, minimizing, justifying, etc.

Just for Today: Choose to live in reality, however uncomfortable you find it.
