Sex addicts don’t recover in a vacuum.

If we’re creating our sexual boundary plan while single, we should do so knowing that we may feel a need to revise our plan (or at least to explain our plan) if and when we start dating—especially if the relationship seems serious. If we are already in a relationship (marriage, perhaps) when we create our sexual boundary plan, we must consider how our new sexual and romantic boundaries might affect our partner. Usually, simply explaining the reasoning behind our new limitations tends to soften the impact.
