Sexual boundary plans, once formulated, are not set in stone.

Most recovering sex addicts spend a few months or a few years with a specific set of guidelines for their behavior, and then realize their plan needs some revision. For instance, advances in digital technology have caused many sex addicts, even long-sober sex addicts, to make adjustments. Social media, dating websites and apps, hookup apps, and even new venues for pornography must often be considered. As recovering sex addicts, we must pay attention to our current sexual and romantic behaviors, and if something new comes up that seems like it might become compulsive or problematic, a revised sexual boundary plan may be in order.
