Deconstructing Gaslighting: What the Buzzword Misses (and Why It Matters) Special Edition Webinar with Tara Beall-Gomes and Sarah Morales
Wednesday, August 13th at 9:30 a.m. Pacific (12:30 p.m. Eastern)
Gaslighting is often described as a covert form of emotional abuse that causes individuals to question their reality, perception, and sense of self. While accurate on the surface, this vague definition leaves those impacted by it vulnerable to ongoing self-doubt and confusion.
Drawing from the innovative work of betrayal trauma coach Sarah Morales, CPC, APSATS-CPC, gaslighting is redefined as “an experience where a person (or group of people), through covert behaviors, convinces another person that what they believe, perceive, think, or feel is inaccurate or invalid.” This deeper framing reveals gaslighting as a repeated, patterned experience that creates disconnection from the self.
In this compelling webinar, trauma-informed therapist Tara Beall-Gomes, LPC, NCC, SATP, APSATS-CCPS, joins Sarah Morales to explore the nuanced dynamics of gaslighting in intimate relationships. Together, they will unpack why gaslighting is so disorienting, how it impacts healing, and how professionals and survivors alike can begin to see and break the patterns.
This session is open to all, with particular value for:
Therapists, coaches, and clinicians seeking a more comprehensive understanding of gaslighting.
Individuals recovering from Betrayal, emotional abuse, or confusing relational dynamics.
Join us to challenge outdated definitions and gain the clarity needed to support deep, transformative healing.
