Mark Anthony Lord’s own journey to spiritual awakening began in the “back alleys of life,” where addiction had taken a painful toll, masking the wounds of childhood sexual abuse and trauma. At age 24, a pivotal moment arrived when Mark entered a treatment center in Val David, Canada, where his counselor’s life-saving charge to him—“Get a new God and learn how to forgive, or you will die.”—ignited a deep spiritual awakening that set him on his lifelong mission.
With an unwavering passion for spiritual growth, Mark became an ordained minister and went on to found the Bodhi Spiritual Center in Chicago, which grew from a small group to a community of thousands. Later, he launched Living The Course, a global, virtual A Course in Miracles (ACIM) community, and most recently, 12 STEP CHURCH, a virtual, global spiritual home for people in recovery.
Mark is also a successful author, with works including The Seven Living Words: A Metaphysical Interpretation of the Seven Last Words of Jesus and Thou Shall Not Suffer: 7 Steps to a Life of Joy.
