Hiking is one of my “things.” I didn’t even know I liked to hike until I moved to Arizona from Michigan. I love hiking inclines more than traversing but have trails that offer a nice combination. Fortunately, I have friends who like to hike, and my adored dog is also a hike lover. I swear he smiles while we’re out there.
One day, on one of our regular routes, I happened to see this saguaro cactus and notice that it looks (to me) like a hand doing the “OK” symbol. I had hiked this trail a number of times and never noticed that. Now I see it every time we’re out on that trail. It struck me how easy it is to miss things, but, once seen, how difficult it is to miss them. Happily, now when I’m out hiking and see this cactus, it reminds me that everything is going to be OK, even if there is the usual life stuff going on. And there always is life stuff.
I shared this photo with a friend who loved it, but then added the message and sent it back to me. I then loved it more and decided to share it here. What a great reminder to watch and listen for those messages. They are there. We just need to pay attention.
