The #MeToo movement is regaining serious traction in Europe, and this seems likely to spread back to the US, as individuals, both male and female, who’ve experienced incest are starting to speak up. The recent wave of testimonies started after a scandal in which a prominent French intellectual was accused of abusing his teenage stepson.
In the sex and porn addiction recovery community, of course, such stories are common, though usually held close to the vest and shared only in therapy and/or smaller, safer 12-Step meetings. Hopefully, this new wave of public testimonies can reduce the shame of experiencing and being impacted by incest.
