The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.

As we heal from sexual addiction, honesty, integrity, self-knowledge, and a desire to be vulnerable and known for who we truly are, warts and all, slowly but steadily replaces the double-life we’ve been living. Secrets, lies, and superficial connections disappear as we begin to feel better about our behavior and our self-identity. When taken on actively and honestly, sexual recovery provides unexpected levels of emotional maturity and hope for a future filled with loving, life-affirming friendships and romantic relationships. Admittedly, working toward change is not easy, especially when our addiction is deeply rooted, but it pays big dividends over time.
