In recovery, the road narrows but the horizon widens.
In sexual recovery, the definition of and boundaries for sobriety are determined based on each addict’s unique history and goals. This means that sexual sobriety looks different for every recovering addict. What is prohibited for one person may be perfectly acceptable for another. Regardless of what an individual addict’s sexual recovery plan looks like, if that addict’s sexual behaviors conform to the boundaries of his or her plan, that addict is sexually sober.
Task for Today
Don’t judge yourself based on the sexual sobriety plans of others. And don’t judge them based on your definition of sexual sobriety.
