The most powerful tool of sobriety is talking to another recovering addict.
To establish and maintain long-term sexual sobriety, we need safe spaces in which we can talk openly and honestly about our sexual addiction, without fear or judgment. This is especially true after we’ve struggled with a potential or actual relapse. The most logical place for this is before, during, after, and between 12-step sexual recovery meetings. If no meeting is taking place at the exact moment we need support, we can reach out to fellow group members via telephone or text for a quick (or longer) chat. Usually, even the slightest contact with another recovering addict is helpful.
Just for Today
Get to your 12-step meeting at least fifteen minutes early and stick around afterward as well.
