Many people think that sexual addiction/compulsivity is an adult male disorder, and that women are not susceptible. And in truth, prior to the Internet most self-identified sex addicts were indeed adult males. However, as digital interconnectivity has brought easy, relatively anonymous, and highly affordable access to an astounding array of intensely pleasurable sexual content and contacts, there has been a corresponding increase in the number and variety of people struggling with sexual addiction – including women.
