Your true self is a boundless spiritual being. You are spirit in body.
Step 3 reads: “Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand God.” The final four words of this step tell us we are not tied to any definition or set of beliefs. Each of us is free to choose a Higher Power that works for us, regardless of how anyone else might feel about it. So, whatever version of God we choose to believe in, nobody should tell us that we’re wrong. This is God as we understand (or don’t understand) Him/Her/It. Our personal understanding of our Higher Power has absolutely nothing to do with what our sponsor, best friend, or anyone else believes. And that is just fine.
Task for Today
Don’t let others judge your conception of your Higher Power. And don’t you judge theirs.
