We are the engineers of our own souls.

Most recovering addicts work the tenth step on an as needed basis and at the end of each day. With the day in review version of the tenth step, we look back upon the events of the day and assess how we did. We look at situations where we handled ourselves with class and dignity, and situations where we might do better in the future. Occasionally, we realize that we owe someone an amends. In such cases we should make that amends as soon as possible—either right away if it’s not too late in the evening, or early the following morning. This end-of-day inventory is a way to keep our side of the street clean on an ongoing basis, as well to uncover character defects we weren’t aware of yet.

Just for Today: Think about the “ease of mind” that comes with keeping your side of the street clean.
